The accommodation itself is first class and outside there is a huge garden. In the summer sit and read on the elevated patio, listen to the wildlife or just soak up the unspoilt views over the traditional farmland to Dunkeswell Abbey. Under the apple tree live three lovely hens who will keep you in fresh eggs during your stay.
In the winter time snuggle up with a glass of wine in front of the log burner set in the inglenook fireplace or watch the garden birds and woodpeckers on the feeders scattered around the large garden.
The cottage's central position near the Devon/Somerset border allows easy access to the beach and the West Country's attractions.
Some of this luxury cottage’s highlights include: 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin) with dreamy views to the fields beyond, sumptuous Egyptian cotton Bed linen, a lovely deep bath, a fabulously equipped kitchen, a DVD library, a real log burner (logs and kindling are included), a dining room that will seat 10 hungry people and off road parking for 2 vehicles.
The owners pride themselves on offering wonderful accommodation in a beautiful setting and making their guests feel thoroughly welcome during their stay. So on arrival expect a freshly baked Victoria sponge cake (made with their own fresh, free-range hen eggs or, when in season, goose eggs!), a pack of sausages made on the farm and pot of home-made jam or marmalade along with tea, coffee, sugar and a jug of milk. Talk about getting you off to a good start! And if you would like any other locally sourced foods then talk to the owners and they will create a beautiful hamper for you and your family.
