Wren Cottage ~ A romantic holiday cottage near Canterbury

Sleeps 5 to 6 - This beautifully restored Grade II listed thatched barn dating back 300 years, has been divided into two beamed holiday cottages equipped to a very high standard which reside in the grounds of the owners’ 500-year-old home Boyke Manor, where the great grandfather of Edward Elgar once lived.

One of the best ways to explore the valley is to follow the Elham Valley Way, some of which follows the old Elham Valley railway line closed in 1947. Explore Canterbury and visit the cathedral but also leave time to see Rupert Bear at the Museum of Canterbury and the Canterbury Tales. At Hythe a boat can be hired on the Royal Military Canal or a ride can be taken on the world’s smallest railway – The Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway. Shops ½ mile, pub 1 mile.

Note: Blackbird Cottage may be booked with Wren Cottage to sleep 9+1 people, with seating space for all guests at Wren Cottage.

Spacious living/dining room and well-equipped kitchen area with butler sink and tiled floor. Shower room with toilet and tiled floor. First floor: Double bedroom with 5ft iron bedsted and sloping ceiling. Twin bedroom with sloping ceiling. Single bedroom with additional single bed (for +1) and sloping ceiling. Beamed throughout.
