Coedyrhygen | Stunning views and the best of Wales on your doorstep

Wake up to this! 1 Coedyrhygen is a beautifully converted former stable in open countryside, on the owner’s stud farm, overlooking the lake of Trawsfynydd. Here you truly are in the heart of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and this romantic cottage offers the opportunity to really get away from it all. On the doorstep you’ll find excellent walking, fishing on the lake, family friendly cycling and world famous mountain biking nearby at the Coed-y-Brenin forest and Blaenau Ffestiniog.

The far reaching and stunning views across the lake continue from the cosy living room and we can imagine ourselves relaxing on the Chesterfield sofa in front of the flame effect fire. There’s a TV/DVD player with Freeview and radio/CD player so you can enjoy your favourite programmes on a cosy night in.

The cream painted fitted kitchen/diner is spacious, light and airy with a dishwasher and a pine table and chairs. A real bonus is the separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer - perfect for when you return back from active days out.

Upstairs we love the beamed, first floor gallery-style double bedroom which is furnished with an antique-style bed and a traditional Welsh tapestry bed spread. Adjacent is a spacious en suite shower room.

This property adjoins the owner’s cottage. It has a private courtyard with a bench to the side and a seating area with a barbecue overlooking the lake and mountains of to the front. Secure bike storage is available and electricity and heating are included.

Trawsfynydd is perfectly placed to explore Snowdonia. Portmeirion is only a short drive away and makes a lovely romantic destination. This unique village was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis and is set on its own private peninsula on the southern shores of Snowdonia. It is made up of about 50 buildings in a romantic Italian style and surrounded by 70 acres of sub-tropical woodland gardens.

Or 10 miles down the road you will find the seaside town of Porthmadog for the Welsh Highland Railway and Ffestiniog Railway - great for a romantic train journey through the beautiful Welsh scenery. For those a little more adventurous we suggest the famous ZipWorld Titan and Bounce Below underground trampolines. And if it’s a history fix you’re after then you can’t go wrong with the castles and beaches of Harlech and Criccieth.
