Park House Gisburn | A boutique B&B in the Lancashire Ribble Valley

Overlooking the 11th century Norman Church and its beautiful grounds in the centre of the historic village of Gisburn, Park House is surrounded by a fabulous choice of great pubs and restaurants. In the village, all within walking distance, you’ll find the Award Winning La Locanda Italian Restaurant, The White Bull Pub which serves extremely good food and the Delicious Deli and Café: THE Place for great coffee, homemade cakes and puddings and good wholesome food.

All bedrooms have new beds with crisp white bed linens and white fluffy towels in the bathrooms. The full en-suite bathrooms in each room are traditionally decorated and in keeping with the Georgian style of the house and have stylish toiletries – Just Grapefruit by Arran Aromatics. All rooms have colour TV, Radio Alarm, Hairdryer, Hospitality Tray and are centrally heated. The stylish and romantic deluxe rooms offer king size beds and fabulous fabrics and furnishings – the perfect pied a terre on the border of Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales.

There is plenty to see and do in the heart of The Ribble Valley. Gisburn is ideally placed on the border of Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales bringing a wealth of adventure and activities for visitors. From fishing, walking, cycling or horseriding in Gisburn Forest, to lovely days exploring the market towns of Clitheroe and Skipton, from the Ribble Valley you can do it all.

Gisburn village is surrounded by beautiful countryside with rolling pastures, small woodlands, hedge lined lanes and with the magnificent River Ribble flowing through. Within a short drive from Gisburn you’ll find the market town of Skipton with one of the most complete and best preserved medieval castles in England. Skipton is a very busy tourist location crammed with independent shops, a small department store and a colourful market which is held 4 days a week.

Another option is the beautiful village of Whalley – if you fancy a lovely afternoon out then walk through Whalley Nab (a gorgeous wooded hillside which provides the backdrop for the village), then enjoy afternoon Tea in Benedicts, a continental style café bar serving great food and coffee and possibly the best custard tarts ever. A wander through the village would round off the afternoon, taking in Whalley Abbey with its splendid architectural styles and the many specialist shops.

And while you’re in the area you just have to try Food by Breda Murphy. Breda used to be head chef at the renowned Inn at Whitewell before founding her own business in 2006. This is a gem of a restaurant and Deli serving delicious food with a modern twist and Afternoon Tea has to be seen to be believed.

If this isn’t enough then there’s the market town of Clitheroe, the Forest of Bowland - an area of outstanding natural beauty well known for walking, cycling, fishing and horse riding or if you feel the need for some retail therapy then try Boundary Mill – the largest quality Mill Store in the UK selling everything from clothes to luggage, bakeware to bedding. I can’t wait to go…
