If you’re looking to cosy up in a romantic Scottish hideaway then these luxury lodges are a great choice. Renowned for its epic scenery, its misty mountains and its red deer and golden eagles, this part of Scotland is pretty special. The village of Glencoe can be reached from London via a flight to Glasgow Airport and a 90-minute drive, by Sleeper Train from London to Fort William or by taking the beautiful drive up past the stunning Loch Lomond (our preferred choice!)

Once you get here, you’ll find your cabin nestled between the trees. Your own Jacuzzi hot tub is just alongside, on its own decking, making it an easy hop for a night time dip. This is powered by a heat pump so it’s also very eco friendly - using only a quarter of the energy of a regular hot tub heater.

Inside, your lodge has been cunningly crafted to provide everything you need - and all within 12 square metres.

There’s a bedroom, on the far side of the cabin, with its own view of the countryside out the port hole window. This space includes a comfy Simba mattress and Egyptian cotton bedding. The thick walls and warm wooden floors ensure you’ll get a quiet night’s sleep too. Within the cabin there’s an en-suite wet-room with toilet, shower and luxury soaps.

It seems impossible, but the designers have even squeezed in a mini kitchen with a microwave, mini-fridge, kettle, and toaster. There’s also glassware, crockery, cutlery, a corkscrew and a can opener.

While you’re staying, you won’t have to worry about breakfast either - this will be delivered straight to your door each morning. It includes fresh milk, warm croissants, local bread and a homemade granola pot. And you can enjoy hot coffee whenever you fancy with a Nespresso coffee machine in your lodge. There’s free wifi, plus you have your own TV too.

Step out onto the veranda and you can enjoy the peaceful sounds of the river, which rolls through this 36-acre site. The estate is a great place to base your Scottish adventures. There are walks from the doorstep, with forest on one side and the sea shore just 400 metres away too.

This is a dog-friendly retreat, so contact the cabin owners to organise admission for your pooch. And the cabins each have free parking, with two electric charging points shared too.

While you are here, there’s plenty to explore. Close-by you’ll find the beautiful Glencoe Lochan, with short trail routes through the woodland. There’s the stunning Glen Etive, used as a filming location because of its amazing scenery. And then there’s Bishops Bay, down by the coastline and only a short amble from your front door.

Further away, we recommend the beautiful seaside town of Oban, with its distillery and some of the best fish and chips around. There’s also the white sandy beaches of Morar, which will have you feeling like you could be in the Caribbean. And then further up the west coast you come to the beautiful fishing village of Mallaig.
