Springfield Cottage | A luxury Devon cottage, perfect for a peaceful break in the Dartmoor National Park

This is an ideal retreat for couples hoping for a super southern getaway in the Devon sunshine. Springfield Cottage is a luxury retreat near Bovey Tracey, on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Its gardens are beautiful and its rooms are sumptuous – take a peek.

The cottage maintains original features, including its chimneys and wooden beams. Inside, it is a mix of modern and traditional. In the evenings, guests can kick back in its lounge area with a cosy wood burner. The cottage has a dining room with an oak table and seating for six people – perfect if you are bringing a couple of friends along.

The kitchen has every modern convenience– there is even a Magimix Nespresso Coffee Machine with pods for your use. And while your pots are bubbling you can step outside and into beautiful gardens.

Outside, there are three lawns, as well as a pond with fish and a barbecue terrace. The pond is not fenced but has netting over to prevent the local herons and other birds and animals from taking the fish. There are romantic flowered arches through to the parking area and the second lawn. Beside the cottage is enough space for two cars.

Upstairs, Springfield comfortably accommodates four but can sleep up to six - four adults plus two children. There are two delightful double bedrooms, a spacious dressing room with day bed and a luxury en-suite bathroom.

The Rose Bedroom can be set up as a super king size bed or split into two 3ft single beds. The large window looks out over the garden, woodland and pond. There is a television with DVD and a large, walk in cupboard for clothes and storage.

The Honeysuckle Bedroom is en-suite, with a king size bed and views over the garden and woodland. Through here you will find a spacious dressing room. Also upstairs, is cottage’s charming Wysteria Room, with a Laura Ashley Day Bed, which can be set up as a single, twin, or king size bed for children. This room also has a large window overlooking the garden. The main bathroom has a bath with a separate powerful Myra shower unit, and two large windows that let in plenty of sunshine and fresh air.

Springfield Cottage is located on the outskirts of the older part of Liverton Village, locally known as Old Liverton, and looks out over the fields up into the local Dartmoor woodland. Some of Devon’s best walking and cycling areas include four mile routes from Haytor and ten mile routes from the delightful seaside town of Teignmouth. It’s a great place for anyone hoping to get some fresh air.
