The Tower Flat | Romantic holiday accommodation for couples in Barmouth near Snowdonia

Always fancied staying in a romantic tower with stunning sea views? The Tower Flat offers just that. Located on the beautiful North Wales coast it overlooks the beach and Cardigan Bay. And with the Victorian town of Barmouth within walking distance, you get some great cafes, shops and restaurants right on your doorstep. Or head inland and enjoy a day in the wild Snowdonia mountains and return to enjoy the sunset on your very own private roof terrace on top of the tower.

The Tower Flat is part of Plas Mynach, a unique holiday home situated on Cardigan Bay where the mountains of Snowdonia National Park meet the sea. The house was built in the 1880s as an impressive holiday home for the Perrins family of Lea & Perrins sauce. Set in its own, largely wooded grounds it offers fabulous sea and mountain views.

Wind your way up the historic stone spiral staircase (not suitable for this with mobility issues!) and you will arrive at this romantic bolthole for couples. Located on the second floor, the flat features a bright and airy living room with sea views. The decor has a laid back beach vibe with sisal rugs and nautical colours and fabrics.

There is also a tastefully furnished double bedroom and a newly fitted bathroom. The kitchen has bags of character and is well kitted out so you can cook up a storm for your loved one.

One of our favourite features is the private roof terrace, located on top of the tower. Perfect for sun bathing, relaxing or some drinks in the evening to watch the sunset, this space is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. You might even spot some dolphins from up here!

Barmouth is a small town at the mouth of the glorious Mawddach estuary with stunning views across the bay. It offers long sandy beaches, perfect for romantic walks or seaside activities. There are also plenty of great places to eat or drink out. We love the look of Celtic Cabin, where healthy and tasty meals are lovingly prepared right on the beach. Bistro Berno is another local favourite with excellent food served in friendly surroundings. The town is also well connected with its own railway station so you don’t even have to bring a vehicle.

The surrounding area also has lots to offer; History buffs will enjoy the imposing castles of Harlech and Caernarfon while the mountains of Snowdonia Nation Park are bound to impress even the hardiest of walker.
